Summer fishing
Summer fishing in "Ljungdalsfjällen" is a wonderful experience and it can be extremely exciting. Nobody knows in advance when "the big fish" bites. If you are lucky, it will go for your hook. Besides the excitement, fishing in the mountains is much more than just fishing. It gives you a relaxation beyond comparison and
it provides you with natural scenery out of the ordinary.
Equipment and useful hints
You don't need any fancy equipment to experience all the joy of fishing in the mountains. A simple fishing rod, a fishing line, a hook and some bait and you will discover that fishing doesn't have to be harder than that. If you want to increase your range you can use a spinning rod. Just remember big bait - big hook, small bait - small hook. As bait you can use corn, maggots, small pieces of fish as well as worms.
Besides a knife, matches and a plastic bag, you should bring a box for hooks, wobblers and spinners in your backpack. If you use a spinning-rod, you should cast in different directions and vary your speed when winding in the line.
Fly fishing

The fishing is at its best during warm periods of summer. Try to see what kind of insects there are on the water surface and pick an artificial fly reminding of it. Go for size, shape and colour. It is not important to cast far but to present the fly in a way, that it looks real to the fish.
